While running errands yesterday, Mann & one of our Compass House guys picked up an individual who was about to head to his shelter for the night(a bridge).
They asked me to come next door to speak with him. As the conversation continued, we felt he would not be a threat to our current residents & quickly decided there was no way he was going to go back underneath that bridge with freezing temperatures! ❄️❄️❄️
He began removing his items from the only bag he was carrying. As he slowly pulled out each carefully wrapped item, our hearts continued to break.. 💔
We quickly understood this was everything he owned, and he took great pride in all that he had.
I’m not sure how the tears was held back from either Mann or myself💦
After running next door to the Compass house the guys quickly learned, we had someone in need. Within minutes they were giving their items away—- sweatpants T-shirt, underwear, jeans, and socks.
In the meantime one of our guys was stripping the only bed we had left, tossing the sheets into the wash for a new clean place for him to sleep.
After a warm shower, a nice meal and people who truly care, it was apparent the family that God had put in his pathway was appreciated.🙏🏻💕🙏🏻
I think we sometimes take for granted everything that we have, myself included. Please remember there are people who would give anything to have a portion of our blessings🙏🏻🙏🏻
God is SO GOOD! 💕
